Esther Ségal born in 1973. From 15 years ago, she is violonist and artist and often performed for fashion events, advertising, movies and TV. She has obtenaid a doctoral degree in Arts and Art Science in 2000.
She operates in Contemporary Art fields with a special focus on philosophy and researches on the photographic medium.

Photography as scripture of light

Esther Ségal's work can be reduced into gender or method, even her first series was devoted to outside landscapes.
Step by step, she sensed the distance between reallity and its referencies. She took the option of photography as the possibility to create light. Prints becoming a skin surface with obvious traces. Esther Ségal is using the out of focus as bounds between writing and image, between visible and unvisible. She is inspired by Painting and the abstraction and attempts to push back representation of art by picturing the sacred.
