Introduction

From his first works on – stairs, walls, monumental buildings – archaic or cyclopean inspired – Tom Carr developed major themes in his work: playing with simple architectural shapes in space, constant questioning of the notion of equilibrium and perspective. Following the steps of a large tradition from Léonard De Vinci to Vladimir Tatlin, the elegance of his plastic research comes from his fascination with exact science and symbolic shapes.
